Global Reads is a 30 day project designed to connect middle school and junior high school readers all over the world. By participating in Global Reads, student and classrooms all over the world can learn what other students across the globe find interesting. Students might just be inspired to pick up a new book to read in the process. Pictures taken of students holding the book they are currently reading will show what students across the globe currently find interesting and in the process might just inspire a student to pick up a new book to read!
Project/event directions for participation:
On Global Collaborations Day, September 17, 2015, starting at 7AM GMT -6 and continuing for 30 days, classrooms, teachers and students alike, are encouraged to take a picture holding the book they are currently reading and post that picture online.. Using Twitter, teachers post the pictures with the Book Title, their Grade Level, and their Location in the world. #globalreads2015 should be included in the post as well! Classrooms should browse the tweets regularly over the next month to find books that they might find worthy of reading.
