We'll share a bit about our award-winning project "Why learn a second language", in which students searched about great APPS for learning languages. You'll learn about these apps and possibly share about your favorite apps too. By the end of this videoconference, you'll have the chance to develop an app from scratch, which is a great to learn a new language and coding.

Some of our students will take a trip to South Africa in May/18. On GCD, we want to talk about countries in Africa and play games/quizzes about it. We will have an interview with an expert from Africa and play a Kahoot quiz about it. We will also take a look at some volunteer work students can possibly engage, either online or when they visit Africa.

Project/event description:
We have sister schools in Tanzania, and recently we got more than 100 letters from them. Before replying, we would like to rise awareness in our students, learn about this country, and talk to you about it. We will have an interview with an expert from Opportunity Education, the institution that keeps in touch with schools there and in many other countries throughout Africa and Asia. We would like to invite you and your students to discuss online, collaborate with your questions and answers and then play a Kahoot game with us.

1. Software: Download and install Zoom in advance at www.zoom.us. It's a free sofware for videoconferencing.
2. Room: At the event time, access the link https://zoom.us/j/140636731 and join us in the online interview with an expert.
3. Q&A: Feel free to ask questions and make comments.
4. Game: Open Kahoot.it and play a game with us. If students have their own devices to play, it's even better, but not necessary since students can play in groups too.

After a successful stint last session, we are back again with 'Rooting for Change - v2.0'. This time, the focus is on spreading awareness about United Nations Sustainable Development Goals & collaborating with classrooms across the globe to take corrective action inorder to achieve our goals by 2030. We are already into 2017, lots of work, lets get started… An entry level event to introduce your class to United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals through a live presentation on facebook & youtube by the host class. This will be followed by with a live quiz on SDGs & the global winners earn attractive badges & get featured on the leaderboard on our homepage.
