Participants should go to this link to start the project. URL to project/event starting point: http://stem2stem.weebly.com/global-collaboration-week.html
Students around the world are sharing their STEM experiences as they write pen pal letters. In the STEM2STEM Pen Pal Project, students write a pen pal letter that shares information about their school experience and how they use STEM at school. Students record themselves reading their pen pal letter and share their recording with STEM2STEM to be posted on the website. Students may also email or mail copies of their letters to STEM2STEM, and those letters will be sent to a school in another country. You never know who will write back :)
Want to take it to the next level? Join us in a live Zoom meeting on Sept. 21 at 9 am Hawaii time and see students around the world writing their pen pal letters.
This project is easily adapted to each teacher’s needs. Students can simply write pen pal letters and send them to STEM2STEM. We will mail their letters out to schools around the world in hopes of a response. Your school may receive letters from another country, too. Students may also record themselves reading their letters and share their recordings with the STEM2STEM website. To be even more interactive, teachers may share live video of their students writing pen pal letters as they watch students in other parts of the world do exactly the same thing.
