This event is asynchronous. Teachers and students may participate ANY TIME during Global Collaboration Week and beyond!

Title of event/project:
Homes Around the World

Participants should go to this link to start the project. URL to project/event starting point: bit.ly/HomesAroundTheWorld

Project/event description:
This is an asynchronous project in which any class can participate before, during, or after Global Collaboration Week (September 23-27, 2019). The goal is to provide a wide array of pictures of homes that can be used by classes as discussion prompts. Participants will take a picture or pictures of home exteriors and add them to provided slides. Home interior pictures are optional. Classes will check this slide deck for additions each day and will make observations about the characteristics of homes around the world. Discussion prompts are provided to inspire classroom discussions.

Project/event directions for participation:
  1. Go to bit.ly/HomesAroundTheWorld.
  2. Take a few pictures of a home in your city or town.
  3. Find a template slide in this deck and add a picture (or pictures) of a home (or homes) in your country.
  4. To replace images in our template slides, click on an image and then select Replace Images from the toolbar. Choose a picture from a location (your computer, Google Photos, etc.) where you have stored it.
  5. You can rearrange pictures if you want; you do not have to keep your slide exactly as is.
  6. Fill in your school name, city/town, and country. (No addresses, please!) Let’s see if we can share pictures of different homes from 100 locations!
  7. Teachers can leave their names and email addresses in the speaker notes if they would like to receive an update about the project.
  8. Please do not edit slides claimed by another school.
  9. Use this collection of pictures to inspire discussions and other projects in your class.
